Phew… go away for a week or so and look what happens, Banksy pandamonium! Expect a flurry of new posts very shortly on everything I missed that of course all the usual suspects beat me to, thanks Vandalog. Maybe one day I’ll get there before ya?
The BBC is reporting that Exit Through The Gift Shop is to sceen at the Berlin festival later this month and the UK release date is set for 5th March.
Narrated by Notting Hill actor Rhys Ifans, Exit Through The Gift Shop recounts Guetta’s desire to become a street artist himself under the pseudonym Mr Brainwash.
“It’s the story of how one man set out to film the un-filmable, and failed,” Banksy said of the documentary.
So, Banksy has been busy over in Utah over the last few days. He delivered the following message relating to his film release
Ladies and gentlemen, and publicists:
Trying to make a movie which truly conveys the raw thrill and expressive power of art is very difficult. So we haven’t bothered. Instead, this is simply an everyday tale of life, longing, and mindless vandalism. Everything you are about to see is true, especially the bit where we all lie.
Thanks for coming, please don’t give away the ending on Twitter. And please, don’t try copying any of this stuff at home, wait until you get to work.
Whilst he was busy doing that Team Robbo was busy at war!
It used to say I don’t believe in Global Warming, Team Robbo have changed it to I don’t believe in war with a tag line of “its too late for that sonny! Team Robbo”
Banksy le Rat – a poke at the fact that banksy took his original inspirations from one of the forefathers of stencil art (and now friend) Blek le Rat.
Thanks to ArrestedMotion for the scoop on the new Robbo works.
